Purpl Discounts SEO growth.

A combined SEO programme bringing technical foundations, informational content and PR closer together to grow non-brand search visibility for Purpl Discounts.

project.

the work.

I worked across technical SEO, informational content and PR/SEO integration to improve how Purpl Discounts was discovered for non-brand searches. The focus was not one isolated tactic, but making the website, content and external visibility support the same audience proposition.

Technical SEO

The technical work covered crawlability, indexation, redirects, canonicals, internal links, XML sitemaps, metadata, structured data and mobile performance so priority pages could be discovered and understood correctly.

Informational content

Regular content targeted practical questions around PIP, access cards, disability benefits, holiday grants and savings, giving Purpl useful non-brand entry points beyond its commercial pages.

PR & SEO integration

PR activity around disability discounts, the extra cost of disability, inclusive retail partnerships and the founder story reinforced the same themes being developed through search and content.

Audience-first delivery

The programme centred on useful information for disabled consumers rather than building search activity separately from the needs of the people Purpl serves.

documented outcome.

the result.

For UK web searches excluding queries containing “purp”, Google Search Console recorded substantial growth in non-brand visibility. Comparing March to May 2026 with the same period in 2025, clicks increased by 141.2%, impressions by 369.6% and average position improved by 45.7%.

content contribution.

the blog became a meaningful part of non-brand discovery.

Informational content contributed 30.6% of non-brand clicks and 25.3% of non-brand impressions in the analysed Search Console data. That supports the role of the blog as part of the wider growth programme rather than treating content as a separate publishing exercise.

30.6%

of non-brand clicks came from blog pages.

25.3%

of non-brand impressions came from blog pages.

81.4%

of non-brand clicks came from mobile devices, reinforcing the importance of the mobile experience.

approach.

why the programme worked.

The technical, content and PR work reinforced each other. Technical SEO helped important pages become discoverable, content answered practical audience questions and PR extended Purpl's visibility around the same core themes. The result was a more coherent search presence rather than three disconnected workstreams.
